‘Rise of the Sand Gods’ is a very different electronic music release from Divine Matrix. Every album is a new and unique journey, seemingly better than what has come before.,
The music is spellbinding, with a wonderful eastern feel…occasionally ethereal male and female vocals punctuate the mix. But this is an album firmly rooted in atmospheric and rhythmic electronic music.
Moody undertones and a sense of mystery pervade throughout, and there are hints of Tangerine Dream circa ‘Exit’. But overall, one gets more a sense of a Hans Zimmer style soundtrack.
The album manages to finely balances the sequenced elements with the ambient and atmospheric interludes, giving a clever mix of light and shade.
‘Rise of the Sand Gods’ is brimming with inventive and catchy musical themes, peppered with great sequencing and rhythmic motion.
Beautifully recorded, in this reviewers mind the best Divine Matrix album to date. Sensational!
Definitely a soundtrack to a movie about the Sand Gods.
It’s been on repeat play here…highly recommended.
