All India Radio are preparing for the release of their 19th studio album ‘The Generator Of All Infinity’, due out in the second half of 2022. Kennedy has described this as having a heavier edge, further expanding the horizons of the heavenly soundscapes emitted by All India Radio. - Arun Kendall, Backseat Mafia

Cosmic sonic architects All India Radio have created shimmering aural edifices that cross genres and defy easy definition across a staggering 30+ releases since the late 1990s. A fusion of psychedelia, prog rock, ambience, and pure dreamy pop creates something greater than the sum of its parts: a monument to the creativity and vision of songwriter Martin Kennedy in the control room of the band since its inception.

All India Radio’s music is of the stars - celestial musings comprised of crystalline guitars and sweeping synths, creating sounds and vistas that are ethereal and immersive.

Kennedy does not hide the source code for his inspiration: All India Radio covered Pink Floyd’s ‘Set The Controls for the Heart of The Sun’ in the album ‘Afterword’ and used artwork by veteran British artist David A Hardy, originally intended to grace the cover of what was to become ‘Dark Side of the Moon’, for the album ‘Space’. But result is no derivative pastiche or carbon copy: All India Radio have carved out their own breathtakingly beautiful path in the field of ambient pop.

The strength of the band and of Kennedy himself is augmented by the ability to bring out the best in others through collaborations. For example, his album 2021 album ‘Jupiter 13’ with iconic indie star Steve Kilbey from The Church was listed by UK magazine Backseat Mafia as one of the best albums of 2021.

Kennedy has also collaborated with prog metal legend Devin Townsend who appeared as a guest on All India Radio’s most recent release ‘Afterworld’ along with Graham Lee (The Triffids), classical guitarist Gareth Koch (Steve Kilbey) and Tasmanian singer songwriter Sasquin.

In turn, Kennedy has been drawn into Townsend’s orbit after Townsend fell in love with All India Radio’s album ’The Slow Light’ and the song “Can You Hear The Sound’, which he covered as part of his Quarantine Project in 2020.
